IMAX to release 20 Warner titles

IMAX will release up to 20 Warner Bros. films in its wide-screen format between now and 2013 under the terms of a new agreement. The deal will see the Toronto- and L.A.-based exhibitor carry major Warner releases including parts one and two of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Happy Feet 2 and The Hobbit, a number of which will be offered in 3D. Other titles include a new Superman movie, a third Batman, Gravity and Dark Shadows.

CIS VFX goes Down Under

CIS Visual Effects Group is expanding its business Down Under with the acquisition of Australian visual effects house Postmodern Sydney. The Sydney studio will continue to operate under the Postmodern banner with the same key personnel and out of the same office. CIS, which has studios in Vancouver and Los Angeles, plans to expand the office later this year.
