She comes from Playback's sister publication KidScreen, spending three years covering licensing & merchandising, retail and interactive trends. She also worked in consumer publishing for a lot of magazines with the word "Canadian" in their titles. Emily is often mocked for her nerdy tendencies, mostly by Playback editor Brendan Christie.
