Gusto Worldwide Media has appointed longtime media exec David Goldstein as its new chief operation officer.
In the Ottawa-based role, Goldstein will head up the producer-distributor’s growth into new international markets, as well as overseeing operations at its Ottawa studio. Goldstein begins in the newly created position on Nov. 4.
Most recently, Goldstein spent nearly five years as president and CEO at the tourism marketing and sales agency Destination Canada. During that time, he helped spearhead the organization’s transition from a traditional tourism marketing board into a producer and distributor of digital programmatic content. Earlier in his career, Goldstein served as SVP of regulatory affairs at CTVglobemedia (now Bell Media) from 2007 to 2010, and before that as VP of government and regulatory affairs at CHUM Limited (2006-2007). He was also the president and CEO of Tourism Industry Association of Canada from 2010 to 2014.
Goldstein’s appointment comes as Gusto Worldwide continues to build out its executive team – most recently adding Jeremy Clark as its new general manager – and make inroads in a number of international markets.
On the international sales front, Gusto has significantly ramped up its deal-making over the past couple of years. In 2019, the culinary-focused company has inked distribution deals with U.S. cable and satellite network Z Living Network, Asian Cable Communications, Ovation TV, Middle East and North Africa entertainment network OSN and streaming service STIRR.
Last month, the company revealed it is rebooting its cooking series Cook Like a Chef (20 x 30 minutes), which has been commissioned for the newly rebranded CTV Life specialty channel (formerly Gusto).
