Project 10 and Gerry Dee’s production company Gerard ADHD Entertainment are partnering on a half-hour comedy called My Scottish Life, a series based loosely on star Dee’s life. The show is currently in development with the CBC. Read more about it here.

Omnicon’s Highway Entertainment has announced the addition of three prodcos to its first-look roster. Both Frantic Films and marblemedia will develop bespoke programming and branded content for Highway, while Toront0-based prodco Digital Howard has inked a deal with Highway for a first look on development projects.
Marblemedia
California-based The Gurin Group and CBC have inked a deal with marblemedia for the factual series Take Sides. Casting for the show is scheduled to start in the summer. Read more about the development pact here.
Corus Entertainment
Corus Entertainment has greenlit a reimagined version of Reboot, the popular children’s show that ran from 1994 to 2001 on YTV. The new iteration of the show, Reboot: The Guardian Code, will be produced by Mainframe Entertainment. Read more about the rebooted Reboot here.
Temple Street Media Ventures
Temple Street Production’s digital division Temple Street Media Ventures has launched a mobile gaming studio. Named TS Games, the studio’s purpose is to create original IP as well as extend existing entertainment brands across new platforms. Click here to read up on the latest Temple Street division. DHX Media
The big reveal at Banff was Degrassi’s next chapter, which will unfold on Netflix and Family Channel. Degrassi: Next Class, produced by DHX Media’s Epitome Pictures, is currently in pre-production. Read more about how Degrassi found its new home on Family Channel and Netflix here.
Nickelodeon, Nelvana
Nickelodeon has signed on as the global broadcast partner for the Nelvana-produced animation Mysticons. Production on the girl-focused cation series is scheduled to begin later this year. Click here to read more about the deal.
Breakthrough Entertainment
Breakthrough Entertainment has optioned the rights to Melvis and Elvis, Canadian author and poet Dennis Lee’s first collection of original children’s poetry in more than a decade. Lee will work with Wexworks Media as well as Breakthrough to begin developing the animated television series. Breakthrough also announced this week that Martin Sheen has joined the cast of the prodco’s Anne of Green Gables MOW.
Peace Point Entertainment
Peace Point Entertainment’s Bake with Anna Olson has been commissioned by Food Network Canada, Scripps Network Asia and Scripps Network U.K. & EMEA for a second season. The show is distributed by Peace Point’s distribution arm, Peace Point Rights. Read the full story here.
