The Canadian Film Fest will choose up to five finalists to pitch their film projects to a panel of industry experts.

The company is now in advanced discussions with “major Canadian BDUs,” according to CEO Craig Thompson.
The sale follows Just For Entertainment Distribution’s rebrand earlier this month from Amuz Distribution.
The sports and adventure documentary acquisitions include one series and eight films from the Salzburg-based studio.
The awards will be presented June 14 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
During the quarter, Thunderbird had 14 programs in service production, which it attributed to the positive growth.
The pact will cover both scripted and unscripted projects.
Other award winners include Mads K. Baekkevold’s The Chef and the Daruma and Neil Diamond and Joanne Robinson’s So Surreal: Behind the Masks.
The award is intended to recognize members of the Canadian screen industry who have broken down barriers and created inclusion.
