Kew Media Group continues to make big moves in the scripted space, today announcing veteran industry exec Carrie Stein is joining the company.

Stein comes aboard as EVP, global scripted series. In the newly created position, she will work with outside producers as well as those under the Kew banner to build a slate of high-end scripted TV series. Based out of L.A., Stein joins the company immediately.

Stein most recently served as EVP of global production at eOne, where she oversaw international coproductions including The Book of Negroes, Ransom and Cardinal. She exited the role in June. Prior to joining eOne, Stein launched L.A.-based 3 Arts Entertainment where she managed production companies and showrunners worldwide. She also previously served as CEO of Alchemy Television, a U.K. and L.A.-based production and distribution company behind TV properties like Flashpoint and Coco Chanel. 

The new hire marks the latest expansion of Kew’s scripted business. On Nov. 14, Kew Media acquired Sienna Films, the Toronto-based prodco behind Ransom, Cardinal and films like How She Move, while in October acquired a stake in U.K.-based kids and drama producer Awesome Media & Entertainment.

“With the financial backing of Kew’s recent IPO, we are poised to become one of the go-to companies for high-end, ambitious, international drama,” Stein said in a release announcing her new position.

After raising $70 million in its initial public offering, the company kicked off a buying spree in February of this year, acquiring multiple production companies, including Bristow Global Media (BGM), Architect Films, Campfire Film & Television, Collins Avenue Productions, Frantic Films, Jigsaw Productions, Media Headquarters Film and TV, Our House Media and Spirit Digital Media. In the same transaction, it also acquired distributor Content Media Corporation (which has since been rebranded Kew Media), and in October the company bought U.K.-based unscripted distributor TCB Media Rights.

Kew Media is led by Blue Ice Group cofounder, Steven Silver, who serves as CEO, and former Alliance Atlantis exec Peter Sussman, who serves as executive chairman.
