Dave Hudakoc tapped to lead Blue Fox’s Canadian expansion

As president of the Canadian arm, Hudakoc will work with EVP Ian Goggins to acquire film, documentary and TV projects.

Blue Fox Entertainment, a global distribution and film sales company headquartered in L.A., is expanding north of the border with the launch of Blue Fox Entertainment Canada (BFE Canada).

Leading the Canadian arm is Toronto-based Dave Hudakoc (pictured, left) who is joining as president and Ian Goggins (pictured, right) as EVP.

BFE Canada will acquire feature films, documentaries and TV series from Canada and abroad. They will also be able to draw from the company’s global infrastructure, resources, and strategic partnerships.

Hudakoc has more than decade of experience in film distribution. He founded Toronto distributor levelFILM in 2013, and departed the company in 2023. Prior to forming levelFILM, he worked at Alliance Films and Peace Arch Entertainment.

Goggins brings a wealth of experience as the former EVP of global home entertainment at Entertainment One (eOne). During his time at eOne, he spearheaded digital sales, marketing and windowing strategies for its film and TV slate.

“For many years, expanding our footprint into Canada has been a strategic goal for Blue Fox Entertainment and we finally found the right partner in Dave Hudakoc,” said James Huntsman, head of Blue Fox Entertainment, in a statement. “His instincts and entrepreneurial spirit combined with his passion for supporting independent cinema, aligns perfectly with our mission to bring diverse and compelling stories to audiences worldwide.”

Blue Fox Entertainment has previously worked with companies and creatives in Canada. It acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Sean Garrity’s The End of Sex and Molly McGlynn’s Fitting In.
