Entertainment One exec Mackenzie Lush has left the global studio for a new gig at First Generation Films.

Lush (pictured), who had served as director of creative affairs at eOne since 2014, joins FGF as VP of development and production for scripted television. She takes over the role from Julie Di Cresce who served as VP of scripted programming at FGF since 2015. Di Cresce joined FGF six weeks after the Toronto-based prodco launched its television division.

In her new role, Lush will work under FGF managing director Christina Piovesan and will be responsible for the acquisition, development, and production of new scripted series for Canada and the global market.

While at eOne, she most recently collaborated on the acquisition, development and production of Mary Kills People, and the development and production of Private Eyes.

Piovesan told Playback Daily that FGF currently has TV projects in development with CBC and Shaw and it is readying pitches to bring to market this spring. Going forward, she said the TV division will be “more competitive and aggressive in getting great material ready for market and working with writers and creators from here and from the U.S. and U.K.”

Prior to launching its TV division, FGF’s focus was on feature films, including Larysa Kondracki’s The Whistleblower. The company continues to produces features, including the upcoming Paper Year.
