Gusto TV to launch in Singapore

The rollout marks the first time Gusto has launched a linear channel outside of Canada.

Gusto Worldwide Media is launching its first overseas linear channel.

Gusto TV will launch this August in Singapore via the pay-TV operator StarHub TV and StarHub’s OTT service, StarHub Go.

This is the latest in a string of expansion announcements from Gusto over the past two years. In December, the company launched a 13,000 square-foot TV studio and head office in Ottawa. At the time, president and CEO Chris Knight said the company had tripled the size of its staff over the preceding 12 months.

Much of the growth has been enabled through its partnership with Bell Media, which in May 2016 acquired rights to the Gusto TV brand in Canada and launched a lifestyle-focused channel later that year. Most recently, Bell Media revealed that it would be rebranding four of its specialty channels under the CTV banner. Among those is Gusto, which is being rebranded as CTV Life.

“This is a major step to reaching our 2018 international expansion goals and we’re happy that our first overseas channel launch will be in Singapore,” said Knight in a statement.
