for Robocop
The Robocop saga continues as renewal for season number two wavers somewhere between uncertainty and curtains.
After a four-month struggle, a promising offer has come in from a u.s. distributor. The irony is that the savior may well be the same company that nearly brought the show to an end: Rysher Entertainment.
Kevin Gillis, president of Skyvision Entertainment, says he received an offer from the Los Angeles distributor that would cover half the $17 million budget for four two-hour movies.
Last September, when first confronted with Rysher’s hesitation to renew for season two, Skyvision came up with a number of alternative plans to try to keep the Robocop regime going. It’s the movie-wheel option that attracted Rysher.
