CBC has renewed the English-language adaptation of anthology drama series Plan B for a second season.
The 6 x 60-minute season, now in production in Montreal, stars Vinessa Antoine (Diggstown; pictured) as a police officer who uses time travel to try and prevent a family tragedy. It also stars Vincent Leclerc (Days of Happiness) and Sarah Booth (Three Pines).
Montreal prodco KOTV is the producer of the original French-language series, which is currently on its fourth season on Radio-Canada channel Ici Télé, as well CBC’s English-language version. The series concept, created by Jean-François Asselin, sees assorted individuals seeking out the services of a mysterious agency, known as Plan B, that can send clients back in time.
Asselin is the showrunner, director, co-writer and executive producer on season two of the English-language series. Celeste Parr is co-writer and executive producer. Additional EPs include KOTV’s Louis Morissette, Louis-Philippe Drolet and Mélanie Viau, as well as Jacques Drolet and Aisling Chin-Yee. Red Arrow Studios International handles international distribution.
The first season of CBC’s English adaptation starred Patrick J. Adams and Karine Vanasse. The series IP has also been adapted in France, Flemish Belgium and Germany.
