Béraud joining SRC

MONTREAL — André Béraud is quitting his job as the head of dramatic programming with the France-based private network TF1 to become head of drama and features at Radio-Canada, the pubcaster has announced.

As a producer with Cirrus Communications, the McGill-educated Béraud brought series such as La vie la vie, Temps dur, La galère and Naked Josh to the screen.

Béraud will start his new job Aug. 25. He replaces veteran producer Francine Allaire, who will now head SRC’s culture, variety and society department. She starts her new job Sept. 28.

‘I would like to thank Francine Allaire for accepting this new challenge. She has worked in the milieu for over 30 years and she is a competent and experienced manager,’ said the head of Radio-Canada TV Louise Lantagne in a press release.
