Toronto’s Shaftesbury has promoted Iain Christiansen to VP, marketing and communications.
Christiansen (pictured), previously Shaftesbury’s senior director, publicity and marketing, succeeds Dylen Postnikoff, who first joined the company in February 2019. The promotion is effective today (May 14) with Christiansen reporting to chairperson and president Christina Jennings, a Shaftesbury spokesperson told Playback Daily.
Prior to joining Shaftesbury, Christiansen worked at CTV and WildBrain, where he served as unit publicist for more than 300 episodes of Degrassi, among other series. Most recently at Shaftesbury, he oversaw the casting of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps on Shaftesbury’s CBC series Murdoch Mysteries.
“Iain is such a valuable part of the Shaftesbury team, and I’m delighted to promote him to this new role,” said Jennings in a statement. “He is smart, has great people skills, and brings a strategic mindset – always thinking outside the box, especially during these changing times.”
Jennings also thanked Postnikoff for her time with the company. “Her innovative approach to brand marketing significantly enhanced Shaftesbury’s global visibility,” said Jennings. “Dylen’s creativity and strategic insight have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the company.”
