9 Story Media has announced sales of its preschool series Peg + Cat into domestic and international markets. Corus Entertainment channel Treehouse picked up season two of the show, with Germany’s Super RTL and Canal+ Family (France) and Piwi+ (French-speaking territories) also acquiring 40 episodes from the show’s first season. For French-speaking Canada, the show was also licensed to Montreal-based GRICS. The series, created and exec produced by Jennifer Oxley and Billy Aronson, was also licensed to Télé-Québec and TFO in Canada, Tiny Pop in the U.K., ABC TV Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand and TG4 in Ireland, as well as to Super RTL (Germany), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RTP (Portugal), MiniMini (Poland), Telewizja Polska (Poland), Discovery Kids (Latin America), Beijing Sunshine Culture and Communication (China), MediaCorp (Singapore), PTS (Taiwan), Disney (Korea), Television Media Korea (South Korea), True Visions (Thailand), TV3(Thailand), HOP! (Israel), E-Junior (UAE), MBC Kids (Middle East), and Zee Learn (Indian Subcontinent).

Also this week, 9 Story announced multiple sales for the second season of preschool series Guess How Much I Love You – The Adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare (78 x 11 minutes). The show – produced by Australia’s SLR Productions, Germany’s KIKA-Der Kinderkanal and HR-Hessischer Rundfunk of ARD, and ABC KIDS – is distributed by 9 Story. The series, based on a book from author Sam McBratney, has been licensed to Z@pp in the Netherlands, Minimini in Poland and NCircle Entertainment in North America.

Radical Sheep
Toronto’s Radical Sheep Productions has optioned three children’s properties ahead of MIPCOM. The optioned properties – Mark Tatulli’s book series Desmond Pucket, Stephanie Kaliner’s animation Sprinkle and the Sweet Sugar Magics and Phil Ivanusic Vallee and Mike Geiger’s Dinoswords, also an animation – are all now on Radical Sheep’s development slate. Desmond Pucket tells the story of monster-obsessed master of “frightology” Desmond, Sprinkle is about Cara and her talking donut friend Sprinkle, and Dinoswords charts the escapades of three boys who are transformed into Dinoswords after touching magic fossils.

Vortex Words + Pictures
Toronto-based Vortex Words + Pictures has inked a deal with Menemsha Films to handle the U.S. distribution of feature drama Natasha, from writer/director David Bezmozgis. Read more about the deal here.

IndieCan Entertainment
Avi Federgreen’s IndieCan Entertainment has picked up the Canadian distribution rights to Farpoint Films Menorca. The Manitoba-shot feature is written and directed by Farpoint’s John Barnard. Read more about the deal here.
