Cineflix Media has named Adrienne Curran (pictured, right) as chief operating office as the company strengthens its leadership team with promotions and a new hire.
Curran, who previously served as COO of the company’s U.K. distribution arm Cineflix Rights, will be based in Dublin and reports to Cineflix Media co-CEOs and co-founders Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck. Andrew Akman, who co-founded the Cineflix-backed Husk Media with Morwyn Brebner, previously held the title.
The company has hired former First Look Media exec Julie Wolf (pictured, below left) to the newly created role of SVP, business and legal affairs. The position is based out of Cineflix’s New York office and reports to J.C. Mills, president and commercial director of Cineflix Productions. It will see Wolf working with the global business and legal affairs teams for Cineflix’s scripted and unscripted projects.
In Canada, Cineflix has promoted Roxana Firescu (pictured, bottom right) to SVP, human resources. Based at Cineflix’s Montreal headquarters, Firescu will report to Cineflix Media CFO Andrew Porporino and oversee HR across the company’s divisions, including its joint ventures and partner entities.
Curran first joined Cineflix in 2003 as managing director for Cineflix International Media before being promoted to COO at Cineflix Rights in 2011. Wolf most recently served as VP, business and legal affairs at First Look Media, as well as working as SVP, business and legal affairs for Discovery Communications, managing deals and transactions for networks such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Investigation Discovery.
“We are delighted to welcome Julie, who brings her wealth of experience as one of the top lawyers in our industry to Cineflix, and to recognize Adrienne and Roxana’s contributions to our success with these promotions,” said Buck and Salzman in a statement. “Strengthening our leadership team underpins our continued growth strategy as we capitalize on the opportunities offered by the global demand for high quality content.”
Cineflix has served as a partner on several production company launches in the past year, including Jacqueline Bynon’s true crime prodco More to the Story Media and Charles Tremayne’s scripted and factual true events prodco First Story Productions.
