The Quebec English-language Production Council (QEPC) has named the seven participants in its third-annual producer mentorship program.
The program, which serves emerging and mid-career English-language producers in Quebec, is funded by the Canada Media Fund’s (CMF) Sector Development Program.
Running from August to November, the hybrid program includes in-person coaching and a series of webinars on wide-ranging topics that include finance strategy, tax credits, pitching, marketing, co-productions, legal issues, and more.
The seven program participants include Angela Hanna Goulene, a writer, producer, and founder of Hannagie Productions; Christina Saliba, who worked in development with film finance and production house, Goldrush Entertainment; and Colin Carruthers, a producer and art director.
Rounding out the program are Jonathan Fournier, a disabled writer and producer with a background in theatre and webseries; Mazin Gamar, a Sudanese-Canadian writer and producer; Octavio Trillos of prodco Kensho Pictures; and Sherri Levesque, a writer and director from Newfoundland.
Program mentors this year include members of the QEPC board of directors, as well as professionals and industry experts from CBC, C3 Media, Cineflix Media, Poutine Studios, Ideacom International and other leading production companies in Quebec.
