Netflix renews Another Life for another ride

The Katee Sackhoff space drama from Halfire Entertainment will start production in Vancouver next year.

Netflix has renewed Halfire Entertainment’s sci-fi space drama Another Life for another mission.

Created by showrunner and executive producer Aaron Martin (Slasher), the hour-long series stars Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff as an astronaut who embarks on a mission to investigate the origin of an unknown alien artifact.

Similar to Another Life‘s freshman season, which ran for 10-episodes, the space drama has been greenlit for another 10 episodes, with production set to begin in Vancouver in 2020. The renewal announcement was officially shared by Sackhoff on Twitter.

Executive produced by Halfire Entertainment CEO Noreen Halpern (Working the Engels), Another Life signals Halfire’s second collaboration with the streamer following Alias Grace (Netflix/CBC). Previously, in an interview, Halpern confirmed to Playback Daily that her banner had just started collaborating with Netflix on its third project together.

Additionally, Another Life‘s renewal follows in The Order‘s footsteps. Earlier this year, the global streamer revealed it had greenlit a second season of the Vancouver-shot supernatural drama from Nomadic Pictures for another 10 episodes.

In addition to Sackhoff, Another Life stars Justin Chatwin (Shameless), Samuel Anderson (Doctor Who) and Elizabeth Faith Ludlow (The Walking Dead), among others. Additional cast for the show will be announced soon.
