Bron taps Rona Cosgrove as chief business affairs officer

The former Paramount Pictures exec will oversee the studio's film and TV business affairs from its L.A. office.

ronacosgrove_3 (1)Vancouver-based prodco Bron Studios has hired former Paramount exec Rona Cosgrove as its chief business affairs officer.

Cosgrove will oversee the business affairs for the studio’s film and television slate out of Bron’s L.A. office. She will report to Bron chair Aaron L. Gilbert.

As EVP and head of business at Paramount Pictures, Cosgrove negotiated deals for the studio on developments, acquisitions, coproductions, as well as animation and talent. Her work included franchises such as Star Trek, Mission Impossible and Transformers. Cosgrove has also held past roles at Revolution Studios and Sony Pictures.

The studio boosted its TV team in March 2019, hiring Pippa Lambert as EVP, domestic television and promoting David Davoli to VP, international television. Among its current TV slate is drama series Dramacorp, German copro Shadowplay as well as upcoming Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show, produced by Bron’s Media Res venture.

Bron’s features slate includes Barry Levinson’s Harry Haft, Gideon Raff’s Netflix-bound The Red Diving Sea Resort and John Ridley’s Needle in a Timestack. The studio signed a $100-million co-financing deal with Warner Bros. on six features, including the upcoming DC Comics film The Joker.
