Vancouver and Los Angeles-based production company Sepia Films has hired film and television executive Andria Spring (pictured).
Spring assumed the role of SVP, post and production effective Jan. 3 to oversee the company’s production slate, according to a release. She reports to senior producers and co-CEOs Kim Roberts and Tina Pehme.
Prior to joining Sepia, Spring spent 10 years at the Vancouver-based media company Bron, including more than three years as EVP, post-production and executive producing for films such as 2024’s Monkey Man and 2021’s Those Who Wish Me Dead. In 2023, Bron Media filed for bankruptcy in the U.S. and obtained creditor protection in Canada, citing media industry issues, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the writers’ and actors’ strikes as catalysts for the decision.
Spring also produced via her own company Maniacal Toon Media and was a producer and post-production supervisor on the 2011 film Donovan’s Echo (Common Man Films, Echo Productions), directed by B.C.-born Jim Cliffe.
“Her passion for storytelling and proven track record of impactful productions will elevate our projects and enable us to expand our slate,” said Roberts and Pehme in a statement.
Formed in 2003 by Vic Sarin, the coproduction-focused company’s recent projects include Sarin’s upcoming Canada/Ireland coproduction Cry From the Sea and the Fox series Murder in a Small Town. The Rossif Sutherland-starring crime drama was Global’s top Canadian show in 2024.
