Lundy, who previously served as a production executive for comedy series at Bell Media, will head up the Toronto prodco’s development slate and look to build out its roster of original programming.

“Having worked closely with him on The Beaverton, we are confident that he will provide a fresh point of view and a wealth of experience, and will assist us in finding new markets for Canadian programming and talent,” said president Laszlo Barna in a statement.

While at Bell Media, Lundy oversaw production on titles including The Beaverton, Letterkenny and Just For Laughs: All Access, as well as digital series such as Space Riders: Division Earth.

With Lundy moving into the VP of development role, Melissa Williamson, who previously held the position of VP of development and production, has been upped to SVP of the company.

Pier 21’s The Beaverton was initially greenlit by Bell Media in 2016, with the 13-episode first season filming in September of that year before debuting on The Comedy Network in November. The series is based on the satirical website Beaverton.com and is created by website co-founder Luke Gordon Field and Jeff Detsky (Call me FitzSeed) alongside the website’s senior editors Jacob Duarte Spiel and Alexander Saxton. Bell Media greenlit a second season at its 2017 upfront, with the new episodes premiering last November.
