Lauren Lee Smith and Tara Spencer Nairn (Corner Gas) have joined the ensemble cast for the second season shoot of The Listener from Shaftesbury Films.

Returning for the sophomore season of Canadian cop drama is lead Craig Olejnik and fellow cast members Ennis Esmer and Mylène Dinh-Robic.

Vancouver-based Lauren Lee Smith will play a police officer, after also starring in Shaftesbury’s new comedy series from Ken Finkleman.

And Tara Spencer Nairn will play a triage nurse as 13 new episodes of The Listener will be shot in and around Toronto through February 2011.

The Canadian drama will air on CTV and Space in Canada, and in 120 countries worldwide via the Fox International Channels.
