Toronto-based Shaftesbury (Murdoch Mysteries) is backing the creation of U.K.-based prodco Turning Point.

According to a news release, the move is part of the prodco’s continued investment in the international production sector.

Turning Point’s founder and managing director is London-based Endor Productions alum Carlo Dusi (pictured right). He will be joined by Endor colleagues Jennifer McConnell as creative director and Molly Scull as development executive.

Prior to Turing Point, Dusi was a managing director at Endor Productions and EVP, commercial strategy, scripted at Red Arrow Studios International. McConnell held positions as head of development at Endor as well as Subotica and was a development producer at Playground Entertainment. Scull worked as a development executive at Endor and, prior to that, was an assistant editor at Oneworld Publications.

The initial slate will include a number of projects that the trio developed together while at Endor Productions along with newly developed titles.

Shaftesbury has previously worked on coproductions such as the Canada/Ireland comedy series SisterS, which it produced alongside Peer Pressure, in association with Mermade and Gaze Pictures. The company also produced Departure with the U.K.’s Greenpoint Productions for season one and Ireland-based Deadpan Pictures for season two.
