The promotion is one of several key appointments at the Montreal-based production company.
Trachuk is based in Toronto and will also serve as corporate secretary to the company’s board of directors.
The selected films include eight minority copros, one majority English-language copro and five in post-production.
The funding has been allocated through the Kids Digital Animated Series Program, which supports the production of original short-form animation.
The Canadian titles include the narrative feature Darkest Miriam and the docs Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story and Made in Ethiopia.
The series will receive a combined $1 million via the CMF-IPF Short Form Series Development Program.
The programming scheduled also includes the new docuseries Mi’kma’ki and the previously announced children’s series Chums.
The HOV Charles Officer Mentorship will provide project development and professional development support to Jamaican-Canadian filmmakers.
Mary Stephen and Gordon McClellan will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year.
The annual awards honouring the local screen sector are taking place in Halifax on May 11.
