A pple TV+’s The Changeling, CBC’s Bones of Crows (pictured) and Crave’s Letterkenny are among the nominees for the 2024 Canadian Cinema Editors (CCE) Awards.
The nominees for the CCE Awards, which honours the work of editors across Canada, were announced on Monday (April 15). The awards ceremony will take place on June 14 at the Delta Hotel in Toronto, with comedian Elvira Kurt hosting.
Nominees for Best Editing in TV Drama include two for The Changeling (Apple Studios and Annapurna), with Jonathan Eagan earning a nod for the episode “Stormy Weather” and Geoff Ashenhurst and Hye Mee Na for “First Comes Love.” Also vying in the category are Greg Ng, Roderick Deogrades and Maxime Lahaie for Bones of Crows (Marie Clements Media, Screen Siren Pictures, Grana Productions); David Di Francesco for Noovo’s Virage: Double Faute (KOTV); and Lisa Robison for Netflix’s Firefly Lane (Stephanie Germain Productions, Curly Girly Productions, Brightlight Pictures).
Up for Best Editing in TV Comedy are Drew MacLeod, who has picked up nods for Letterkenny and its spinoff Shoresy, both produced by New Metric Media; Charles Boisseau and David Bourbonnais for Noovo’s Club Soly (Encore); Justin Li for AMC’s Lucky Hank (AMC Studios); and Maureen Grant for Sort Of (Sphere Media).
In the Best Editing in MOW/Mini-Series category, Myriam Coulombe has been nominated for Crave’s Désobéir: le choix de Chantale Daigle and Club Illico’s Mégantic, both produced by Also Productions; Maxime Lahaie-Denis for Crave and APTN’s Little Bird (Rezolution Pictures, Original Pictures); and Christopher Donaldson for the Paramount+ and Showtime series Fellow Travelers.
Competing for Best Editing in Feature Film are Jorge Weisz for Sweetland (Sara Fost Pictures); Justin Oakey for The King Tide (Woods Entertainment, Sara Fost Pictures); Marie-Pier Dupuis, Dominique Fortin and Maxim Rheault for Solo (Bravo Charlie); Orlee Buium for North of Normal (JoBro Productions, Independent Edge Films, Undisputed Pictures); and Yvann Thibaudeau for Dis-moi pourquoi ces choses sont si belles (Max Films).
The Lifetime Achievement Award recipients this year are Mary Stephen and Gordon McClellan, while Don Thompson is receiving the Career Achievement Award.
The CCE is a not-for-profit organization that works to promote the art of picture editing across all media.
