40 Below and Falling to shoot in Edmonton

Production is slated to kick off in mid-January on 40 Below and Falling, a romantic adventure/comedy feature film from director Dylan Pearce that will be shot in both 2D and 3D.

The film will be shot mostly on location in Edmonton and various areas around Alberta, and in a studio at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton.

40 Below and Falling tells the story of a small town teacher who is moving back to the city to marry her fiancee, but is stranded after her flight is grounded by a blizzard. She then hitches a ride on a snowmobile with a surly stranger, and their journey leads her to question her engagement.  40 Below and Falling stars Jewel Staite (The Killing, Firefly) and Shawn Roberts (Resident Evil, Edge of Darkness).

The film is produced by 12pt media, which was recently launched by executive producer Andrew Scholotiuk, executive producer Darren Arsenault and Pearce. The project is produced in association with the Edmonton Film Fund, The Alberta Media Fund, the Canadian film or video tax production credit program and association producer Jim Dorey.

40 Below and Falling is set to air on Super Channel in fall 2015, with the international release of the film being handled by DARO films.
