Global has added season three of Canadian legal drama Family Law to its winter lineup.
Family Law is produced by Vancouver’s Lark Productions and Calgary’s SEVEN24 Films. The new season will premiere on Jan. 5.
The 10 x 60-minute legal drama was created by Vancouver-based author Susin Nielsen who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. The series is executive produced by Jordy Randall, Tom Cox, Erin Haskett and Andy Mikita.
Family Law follows a recovering alcoholic and lawyer working with her estranged father and two half-siblings. The series stars Jewel Staite (pictured, left), Victor Garber (pictured, right), Zach Smadu, Lauren Holly and Genelle Williams.
The series was renewed by Global for season four in February and went into production in March.
Staite won in the lead performance category for her work in the series at the 13th annual UBCP/ACTRA Awards in Vancouver in November.
Other scripted dramas premiering on Global are the Toronto-shot Fox medical drama Doc on Jan. 7 starring Maple Ridge, B.C.-born Molly Parker; and the Vancouver-shot medical mystery Watson on Jan. 26.
The latest revival of the game show Hollywood Squares is set to premiere Jan. 9, hosted by Calgary-born former NFL player Nate Burleson.
