Ben Kingsley to star in Muse’s Tut miniseries

Ben Kingsley is to star in Tut, Muse Entertainment’s six-hour miniseries for Spike TV.

Kingsley will play the role of the Grand Vizier, the top advisor to King Tutankhamun and the power behind the Egyptian throne.

Tut will be shot on location in Morocco and Canada from September to December 2014, and will debut on Spike TV in 2015.

Muse Distribution International is handling international distribution on the miniseries, the first scripted series for Spike TV in eight years.

Muse Entertainment is best known for earlier series like The Kennedys, Being Human, The Pillars of the Earth and Bomb Girls.

Executive producer credits on Tut will be shared by Joel S. Rice, Michael Prupas, Greg Gugliotta, Michael Vickerman, Jeremy Elice, Angela Mancuso, Sharon Levy and David Von Ancken, who also directs.

Producing is  Irene Litinsky, Guy Louthan and Gilles Perrault.

Tut is written by Michael Vickerman, Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg.
