Cameras roll on Bark Ranger

Production has started in on Breakthrough Entertainment‘s family comedy Bark Ranger.

The film will be shot in Guelph and Paris, ON until the end of June, said Tim Brown, EVP of feature films at Breakthrough Entertainment. The film is produced and distributed by Breakthrough Entertainment, which has already presold the film in the U.S., Canada, France, Latin America and Indonesia.

While it has yet to be determined how the film will be released, family-friendly comedies like Bark Ranger generally see a home entertainment or VOD release, Brown said. While he declined to give the exact budget of the film, he did confirm it came in under $4 million.

Bark Ranger stars Lucius Hoyos (The Colony), Zoe Fraser (The Last Halloween), Jason Blicker (The Day After Tomorrow), Ari Cohen (My Babysitter’s A Vampire) and Trenna Keating (Defiance).

Duncan Christie will direct the film, with Nat Abraham, Ira Levy, Mike McGuigan and Peter Williamson serving as executive producers. The producers on Bark Ranger are Neil Bregman, Tim Brown and Shayne Putzlocher. Jason Delaney was the writer on Bark Ranger.

Bark Ranger is also produced in association with Bell Media and Corus Entertainment.
