Syfy has made it official: the Showcase time traveling police drama Continuum has received a second season order of 13 new episodes from the U.S. channel.
Syfy will debut the sophomore season from June 7 after a successful run of the rookie season from January 2013.
During its first season, Reunion Pictures’ Continuum delivered an average 1.35 million total viewers for the U.S. sci-fi channel.
The series sees Rachel Nichols play a female cop from the future who finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver, swept along after a group of fanatical terrorists escaped their planned execution in 2077 by vaulting back in time.
Continuum co-stars Victor Webster and Erik Knudsen.
Executive producers are series creator Simon Barry, Pat Williams and Tom Rowe.
