Ice Pilots NWT gets season five greenlight

History Television Canada has given Vancouver-based Omnifilm Entertainment the greenlight for a fifth season of its docu-series Ice Pilots NWT.

The series, first commissioned by History in 2008, follows the adventures of maverick Yellowknife airline Buffalo Air.

The fifth season will also delve into the changing lives of the McBryan family, which owns and operates the airline, as well as returning Buffalo workers and a fresh crop of pilots.

Ice Pilots NWT is created and produced by Omnifilm’s David Gullason. Gabriela Schonbach, Michael Chechik and Gullason exec produce.

The series is produced by Omnifilm in association with Shaw Media, with participation of the Canadian Television Fund, the Rogers Cable Network Fund, the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and tax credits.

The fifth season of Ice Pilots NWT is currently in production, to wrap in early summer. It is slated to air on History in fall 2013.
