The Canada Media Fund is making changes to two factor weights for its French-language Envelopes in 2013-2014, the fund announced Wednesday.
The 5% Above-Threshold licences factor will be eliminated, and shifted to Audience Success-Total Hours Tuned.
This factor will thus increase to 40%, matching with the English-language envelopes.
The CMF’s board of directors decided to make these changes following consultation with the industry, the CMF said in a statement, adding that it simplifies and clarifies the factor weights.
The envelopes are calculated by measuring a broadcaster’s performance against that of other broadcasters in different genre, based on now five weighted factors.
The factor weights for 2013-2014 are:
