Michael Gross, Jeremy Hotz cast in Call Me Fitz

Michael Gross has landed a fourth season multiple-episode arc on Call Me Fitz, the HBO Canada comedy.

Canadian comic Jeremy Hotz will also guest star as production on another ten episodes of the Jason Priestley-starrer gets underway in Halifax.

Michael Gross (Family Ties) joins the cast as Pat Childs, an eco-industrialist intent on destroying the used-car industry and in turn, the entire Fitzpatrick family.

Sheri Elwood, who created the series and serves as showrunner, told Playback Gross’ character will provide a counterpoint to Richard “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, a morally bankrupt used-car salesman played by Priestley who forever battles his inner conscience, played by a do-gooder salesman, played by Ernie Grunwald.

“This season is all about family secrets. It’s a Cain and Abel tale,” Elwood explained.

Gross recently appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and has also guest starred on Parks and Recreation and Brothers and Sisters.

And Hotz will guest star in season four as a frazzled, disillusioned social worker investigating the Fitzpatrick clan.

Call Me Fitz airs in 82 markets internationally, including on DirecTV’s Audience Network.

Created by Sheri Elwood, who is also the series showrunner, Call Me Fitz is executive produced by Elwood along with Teza Lawrence and Michael Souther of Amaze Film + Television who developed the show with Elwood. John Morayniss and Michael Rosenberg are exec producing for eOne, and David MacLeod for Big Motion Pictures.

eOne handles worldwide distribution.
