Industry vet Pancho Mansfield has been named as president of global scripted television for Toronto and L.A.-based Blink49 Studios.
Mansfield (pictured) will report directly to CEO John Morayniss and will oversee the development of original scripted content.
Mansfield was previously the president of global scripted television for Entertainment One.
He signed an exclusive first-look executive producer deal with the company in July, working closely with Blink49’s EVP, global scripted television, Carolyn Newman, his former eOne colleague along with Morayniss. They are collaborating on several projects, including a problem-solving procedural with writer and producer Andrew Miller.
“We have an incredible strategic opportunity to grow our roster, champion great writers and producers and take creative risks that resonate globally,” said Mansfield in a statement. “I look forward to [continuing] working with Carolyn and helping drive our vision for original programming that breaks new ground and captivates audiences everywhere.”
With more than 20 years’ experience, his other previous roles include EVP of Spike TV, SVP of programming at Fox TV Studios and Showtime Networks’ SVP of original programming.
“His deep expertise and industry relationships are invaluable,” added Morayniss. “With Pancho and Carolyn Newman leading our talented executive team across the U.S. and Canada, we’re well-positioned to advance our ambition of creating compelling, original programming for audiences worldwide.”
