BBC Worldwide sells Wingin’ It to Starz Kids and Family

BBC Worldwide has secured a sale to Starz Kids and Family for Temple Street Productions’ Wingin’ it.

Earlier seasons of the teen comedy, that revolves around a reckless angel-in-training who has been sent to Earth to earn his wings, have been sold to Noga in Israel, Norway’s NRK Super and Top TV in South Africa. It also airs on CBBC in the U.K, and on Family Channel and Disney XD in Canada.

It will first roll out on the Starz channel in the U.S. on March 1, 2013.

Wingin’ It continues to engage youth audiences season after season because of its smart story lines that strive to show viewers that there is a way to have fun while dealing with life’s everyday challenges. We are delighted to partner with Starz Entertainment to bring Wingin’ It to a whole new audience and add to its growing fan base,” said John Young, Temple Street’s managing director, in a statement.

The deal was brokered by Tom Misselbrook, senior manager, sales and co-productions at BBC Worldwide America.
