Vancouver-based Force Four Entertainment’s expanding development and production slates, with a new HGTV Canada series on the way, has led to the promotion of Sean De Vries to head of factual entertainment.

The studio is currently in production with Urban Suburban, a 26 x 30-minute HGTV Canada series. In every episode, a couple has to choose between living in the suburbs or near the city, as they go through six open houses led by brother and sister real estate agents, Sarah Daniels and Philip DeMoulin.

The project was developed by De Vries, who is also a producer on the series.

De Vries joined Force Four in 2008, where he was the director of development. He brings more than 10 years of TV production experience, as a former journalist for the CBC and BBC. De Vries works closely with the company’s creative head, executive producer John Ritchie, who will continue heading scripted programming.
