Former Super Channel executive Tanuka Roy (pictured) has joined Geneva-headquartered CosmoBlue Media as the general manager of its Canadian office in Toronto.
CosmoBlue comprises several divisions, including streaming services and distribution, content production, sports media asset management, digital monetization and an investment arm. In September, the company launched its theatrical distribution arm in Canada.
In her new role, Roy will lead operations and oversee CosmoBlue’s Canadian expansion strategy, according to a release.
Roy first joined Super Channel in January 2023 as its chief revenue officer. After a restructuring in July that same year, Roy was promoted to chief operating officer. Roy was involved with FAST channel rollouts and the launch of the direct-to-consumer (DTC) Super Channel+ app.
Prior to joining Super Channel, she was the associate director, OTT digital products at Bell Media, where she led product development for Crave and launched DTC versions of TSN and RDS. Other roles in the industry include consulting with WildTV to help launch its DTC app.
“[Roy’s] experience in building successful digital products, combined with her deep understanding of Canadian media, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our offerings and improve the viewing experience for Canadian audiences,” said CosmoBlue co-founder and CEO Berk Uziyel in a statement.
