A lexandre Carrière’s thriller Terminally Delayed recently wrapped filming in the St. John’s International Airport and hotel.
The film, produced by Rob and Peter Blackie of Newfoundland-based Elemental Pictures, entered production on Feb. 24 and wrapped on March 14. The film was produced for Toronto and Vancouver-based Champlain Media, which holds worldwide distribution rights. Champlain also has production hubs in Kelowna, B.C. and Toronto.
Terminally Delayed follows a group of stranded travelers who find themselves stuck at an airport hotel when a snowstorm grounds all flights. The film stars Samora Smallwood (pictured left), Matt Wells (pictured right) and Yasmin McKay (pictured centre) as well as Justin Nurse, Johnathan Valvano, Lauren Vandenbrook, Shanna Armogan and Peter Dillon.
Taralee Gerhards and Sheetal Nanda are co-producers, while Joe Wilka is an executive producer. Chris Silverston served as writer.
The film was financed via a distribution advance from Champlain Media, an investment from Elemental, an equity investment from PictureNL as well as provincial tax credits, Smallwood told Playback Daily.
The film does not yet have a release date, according to Smallwood.
