The Canadian makeover of HGTV U.S. continues with indie producer Tricon Films shooting Secrets From a Stylist in Los Angeles for the American channel.
Knoxville-based HGTV greenlit 26 episodes of the home design series that stars Emily Henderson, the season five winner of HGTV Design Star.
Henderson, a prop stylist from Portland, Ore., head-lined a one-hour special that performed for HGTV U.S. in August, prompting a longer series to bow in 2011.
Tricon in July sold its home reno series Marriage Under Construction to HGTV U.S.
The latest Tricon series order follows HGTV U.S. debuting All American Handyman last month from Canadian indie producer Firvalley Productions, based on the format for the popular HGTV Canada series Handyman Superstar Challenge.
Those and other stateside assignments for Canadian producers follows Anna Gecan, a former vice president of content at HGTV Canada, last year joining Scripps Networks Interactive as vice president of original programming for HGTV U.S., based in New York City.
