Corus Entertainment has greenlit two series from Toronto-based Nikki Ray Media Agency, Halloween Bakeshop and Holiday Bakeshop, for the Flavour Network.
The two 7 x 60-minute holiday-themed baking competitions will go into production in February 2025 in time for a fall release, according to a news release.
Corus has also renewed two series for Home Network: Rock Solid Builds for season four (8 x 60 minutes, Cineflix Productions) and House of Ali for season two (8 x 60 minutes, Nikki Ray Media Agency). Production on the new seasons will begin next year.
The greenlights were paired with the announcement of Home Network and Flavour Networks’ winter and spring lineups.
Canadian series part of Flavour’s 22-series lineup include season four of Great Chocolate Showdown from Nikki Ray Media Agency (8 x 60 minutes; pictured) on Dec. 30. Carnival Eats season 10 (13 x 30 minutes) from Alibi Entertainment premieres Jan. 5. First announced during June upfronts, Pamela’s Cooking with Love (8 x 60 minutes) from Fireworks Media Group premieres Feb. 24.
The final Canadian series is Big Burger Battle (6 x 60 minutes, Nikki Ray Media Agency). The Andrew Phung-hosted series premieres April 21.
Home Network’s 15-series winter and spring slate includes three Canadian titles.
Season two of Pamela’s Garden of Eden (8 x 60 minutes) from Fireworks Media Group premieres on Jan. 2; season two of Renovation Resort (8 x 60 minutes) produced by McGillivray Entertainment Media (MEM) premieres March 30; and Scott’s Vacation House Rules (MEM) season six premieres April 7.
The acquired content for Flavour Network includes Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (8 x 60 minutes), which premieres Jan. 1, and Chasing Flavour (6 x 60 minutes), hosted by Carla Hall. Titles acquired for Home Network include the Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis-hosted Honest Renovations (6 x 60 minutes), premiering Jan. 2, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (8 x 60 minutes) on Jan. 2.
In September, Corus announced Home Network and Flavour Network would replace the HGTV Canada and Food Network Canada brands, respectively. Both networks will launch on Dec. 30. Viewers will also be able to stream each channel’s series on StackTV.
