Hugo d’Astous has been named a co-owner and EVP of Montreal’s Duo Productions after purchasing shares at the company.
The move aims to strengthen the team and consolidate the company’s relationships with Quebec and Canadian broadcasters, according to a news release, as well as maintain sustainable growth as a content producer.
In addition to serving as EVP, d’Astous will retain his role as head of international development, and continue to help grow the company’s international reach. He is now a co-owner alongside president Anne Boyer and Michel d’Astous.
Prior to joining Duo, d’Astous had an extensive career as a criminal lawyer in the Montreal area, working with firms such as Shadley Bien-Aimé and Roy et Associés Criminalistes.
Boyer said bringing on a third co-owner “marks the beginning of a new phase” for the company, adding that d’Astous’ “skills and enthusiasm have already been invaluable assets for the last three years.”
Duo Productions produces French-language series such as Club illico’s Classé secret and the Radio-Canada series Aprés.
