Bell Media streaming service Crave has signed a long-term deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) for exclusive pay-one window rights to its theatrical features.
The agreement gives Crave first pay window rights to upcoming SPE films, following their theatrical and home entertainment windows, beginning April 2023.
The slate includes a number of films based around Marvel characters, including Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web.
In addition, a number of Spider-Man films from the SPE library have been added to Crave, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (pictured), produced with Marvel Studios, the original trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, and the duology starring Andrew Garfield. SPE films Jumanji and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be added later in December, with additional films to be announced at a later date.
The deal also includes a commitment from Bell Media to market the films through “elevated promotional campaigns, including in-product merchandising and experiential marketing initiatives,” according to a news release.
Karine Moses, SVP, content development and news, and vice chair at Bell Media, said the “significant deal expands Crave’s content offering,” in a statement.
