Hollywood Suite
Hollywood Suite has picked up the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to season six of the hit British crime drama Line of Duty. The new season of the show, created by showrunner Jed Mercurio, will premiere on Hollywood Suite in October. Hollywood Suite also acquired the on-demand rights to seasons one through five of the series, with all five seasons launching this week on Hollywood Suite On Demand. Line of Duty is produced by World Productions for BBC One in the U.K. Last month Hollywood Suite revealed it had acquired the Canadian broadcast rights to another British crime drama, The Pembrokeshire Murders.
Peterson Polaris Corp.
Toronto’s Peterson Polaris Corp. has acquired the English-language remake rights to the Danish tween television series Skyldig (Guilty) from Denmark’s national broadcaster DR International. Michael Peterson and Lars Lehmann, who led the deal, will develop the English-language remake. Skyldig, launched in 2019, is a 24-episode fiction series about a 12-year-old-boy trying to solve the mystery of a school fire. Peterson’s recent executive-producer credits include the CBC Gem original Ming’s Dynasty and APTN’s The Secret History of The Wild West, the latter of which he also co-created.
HG Distribution
Montreal’s HG Distribution has sold five Quebec-made digital series to TV5 Monde. The deal includes Claire and the Elderly (6 x 12 minutes) and The Florists (6 x 10 minutes), both of which are produced by UGO Média, as well as Home Turf (8 x 10 minutes) and Dominos (5 x 8 minutes), both produced by St Laurent TV. Rounding out the deal is The Arena, produced by NITROFilms.
