Champlain Media names Linda Stregger as COO

The former Spin Master VP oversees the company's development, production and financial activities.

linda streggerLinda Stregger has joined Champlain Media as its chief operating officer, effective immediately.

With offices in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto, the company owned by Reel One Entertainment and CEO Tom Berry is one of the largest suppliers of commercial TV movies and series.

Based in Toronto, Stregger reports to Berry, overseeing the production company’s development, production and financial activities. In particular, she is tasked with guiding and directing the company’s operations and finances.

Noting that she’s thrilled to be working with Berry and the teams at Champlain and Reel One, Stregger said in a statement that it is a busy time for the company as it grows its television production capacity.

Her appointment comes as Champlain Media continues to expand its slate for scripted content for both the North America and international market, according to a release. For 2021, that consists of over 100 TV movies, such as crime thrillers, romantic and Christmas movies as well as four films in author V.C. Andrews’ Ruby Landry franchise.

“As the company expands and embraces exciting new challenges and opportunities, we’re delighted to have Linda join our team and bring her financing acumen, strong leadership skill set and extensive production background,” said Berry in a statement.

Stegger has more than 25 years of experience in the TV industry.

Her resume includes working in finance at CTV and operating independent prodco Up Front Entertainment – which produced more than 600 hours of programming.

In 2017, she joined Spin Master Entertainment as senior director of finance and business development. Most recently, she served as VP of finance for the company’s entertainment division.

Stegger is chair on Women in Film & Television – Toronto’s board and treasurer for non-profit Horizons for Youth Shelter. She was appointed to the former in 2020.

Reel One, which recently signed a distribution agreement with FilmRise, handles international distribution for Champlain Media’s slate.
