Hot off the heels of Shaftesbury’s newly announced strategic partnership with AMC Networks, the prodco has hired Deborah Nathan (pictured) – former CBC executive in charge of production – as its senior director of creative.
Effective immediately, Nathan joins the Murdoch Mysteries producer’s Toronto-based office and is tasked with overseeing its slate of in development and in production scripted series.
She reports to VP, creative affairs Julie Lacey and works with London, U.K.-based senior director, creative and coproductions Alexandra Finlay.
The writer, story editor and producer with experience in both the Canadian and U.S. TV industries joins the prodco after five years with the CBC, where she shepherded productions such as Diggstown, Fortunate Son and Alias Grace as well as other development projects.
Nathan’s past experience also includes consulting on TV movies and miniseries such as CBC’s The Book of Negroes and director Ruba Nadda’s feature film Cairo Time (2009) starring Patricia Clarkson.
