Todd and the Book of Pure Evil co-creator and showrunner Craig David Wallace is underway on his second feature film, Daughters.

Wallace, whose directorial credits include Slasher and Dead Still, co-wrote the feature alongside Ian Malone (Big Top Academy, The Next Step). It follows a single mother stalked by a vengeful couple who believe she’s responsible for their daughter’s murder.

Produced by Federgreen Entertainment’s Avi Federgreen and Lucky Dime Films’ Laura Tremblay, cameras are expected to roll on the thriller in Toronto until late March. Executive producers on the project include Raven Banner Entertainment managing partners Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew Hunt as well as Gil Hopkins and Marvin Waxman.

Set to be distributed in Canada by Raven Banner Entertainment – which also represents the worldwide sales for the film – Daughters stars Lora Burke (For the Sake of Vicious), Kristen MacCulloch (The Vault), Nick Smyth (Cardinal), Colin Paradine (Defective) and marks Tessa Kozma’s on screen debut. The film received financial support through private investment, tax credits and a Raven Banner pre-buy.

Daughters comes nearly a decade after one of Wallace’s breakthrough projects, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. The TV series ran for two seasons and spurred the animated feature Todd & The Book of Pure Evil: The End of the End (2017), the latter of which was distributed in Canada by Raven Banner.

The thriller is also the second feature Raven Banner has rolled on this year. In February, Hangar 18 Media – the Toronto-based company’s joint venture with 9 Light Entertainment and post-production company Red Square Motion – started shooting The Fight Machine, an adaptation of author Craig Davidson’s novel The Fighter, penned by Davidson and Raven Banner’s Hunt.
