AMC Networks-owned distributor IFC Midnight has picked up the U.S. rights to Albert Shin’s Disappearance at Clifton Hill.

Shin directed and co-wrote the mystery thriller with James Schultz. It was produced by Rhombus Media’s Kevin Krikst and Fraser Ash and executed produced by Niv Fichman alongside Elevation Pictures’ Adrian Love and Omar Chalabi.

Disappearance at Clifton Hill tells the story of a woman who tries to unravel a mystery from her childhood when she’s forced to return to her hometown of Niagara Falls, following the death of her mother. It stars Tuppence Middleton (Downtown Abbey), Hannah Gross (The Mountain), David Cronenberg (Crash), Eric Johnson (Fifty Shades Freed) and Marie-Josée Croze (Maelstrom).

The film is set for U.S. release on Feb. 28, 2020. Elevation Pictures holds the Canadian distribution rights while WTFilms handles worldwide sales.

Originally titled Clifton Hill, the film had its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Krikst and Ash picked up the Emerging Producer Award at the CMPA’s Indiescreen Awards at the start of the festival.

Disappearance at Clifton Hill was produced in participation of Telefilm and Ontario Creates, and received funding from CBC Films.
