Vancouver: Pinewood Sound in Vancouver was among the thankees in Jon Johnson’s Oscar acceptance speech as winner of best sound editing for Universal’s submarine movie U571.

In 2000, Pinewood created U571’s walla background sound, did some dialogue editing and hosted the film’s actors for four weeks of ADR.

The company regularly provides service to the big Hollywood films. In 1999, Universal’s The Mummy was a Pinewood client and best sound nominee. This year, Universal’s Cats and Dogs should be doing sound work at the Vancouver studio.

Pinewood is celebrating its 25th year of business this year. *
