In the newly created role, Pearson will be charged with developing feature films and supporting original Quebec production. He’ll report to Christine Maestracci, senior director of acquisitions.

Prior to joining Quebecor, Pearson served as director of specialty channels and acquisitions at Groupe V Media, where he led the programming of its Max and Musique Plus channels and acquired content for its family of channels. He’s also previously served as director of content development at Remstar Films.

Last month, Quebecor Content announced it would begin investing in locally produced original features. The company is currently investing in three feature films, slated for development this year, all of which will debut on the Club illico streaming platform and then air on TVA Group’s platforms. Quebecor will retain all rights to the films, exclusively for its platforms.

“Louis is the ideal person to contribute to fulfill this new mandate of investing in Quebec film production,”
said Yann Paquet, VP, Quebecor Content, in a statement. “We have no doubt that his energy, creativity and
experience will be major assets, and we’re delighted to have him join the team.”
