U.S. network ABC has greenlit Thunderbird Entertainment’s 10-part TV series Somewhere Between.

The drama, which is based on a Korean format, was given a straight-to-series order, with production slated to take place in Vancouver.

Written by Stephen Tolkin (Summerland, Perception), the series will be executive produced by Thunderbird’s executive chair Ivan Fecan, EVP Joseph Broido and Tolkin. The show is scheduled to begin airing in summer 2017. No casting announcements have been made at this time.

Somewhere Between tells the story of a mother who is certain her daughter is soon to be murdered. She knows how, where and when the killing will take place, but she doesn’t know why. Even knowing all this, her best attempts to keep her daughter safe are unsuccessful, and the killer remains on course to commit the murder.

Last month, Thunderbird optioned the rights to Faye Kellerman’s best-selling Decker-Lazarus mystery novels to develop for TV. The Vancouver company also produces Kim’s Convenience, which has posted impressive ratings during its first-season run on CBC, as well as Canada/Australia copro Beat Bugs for Netflix.
