Winnipeg’s Farpoint Films has entered into a first-look production deal with L.A.-based producer and distributor Rive Gauche Television.
The multi-year deal will see the companies partner to develop and produce unscripted television projects for both the international and domestic markets. As part of the deal, Rive Gauche will act as a coproducer on certain Farpoint properties and serve as the international distributor of all of Farpoint’s upcoming unscripted projects, while Farpoint will act as a production and post-production house for Rive Gauche.
Farpoint and Rive Gauche first teamed up in 2014, with the distributor selling Farpoint and Middle Child Films’ The Illegal Eater to Esquire in the U.S., Discovery Networks in the Asia-Pacific region and True Corp. in Thailand.
In a statement, Kyle Bornais, executive producer and co-founder of Farpoint Films, said he hopes the deal with Rive Gauche will help his company expand its reach into the U.S. and international markets.
Earlier this month, Farpoint announced it had begun production on a new kids culinary show, Kid Diners, for TVOKids.
